The Kansas State Fair in Hutchinson, Kan. had about 329,000 attendees and we had several from BJSHS attend. Scarlett Ludwig attended the State Fair for three days along with her dad, Jake, and her sisters, Bella, and Kate, to show three pigs. She had the showmanship on Friday, then the Market Show was on Saturday and she showed two pigs in that, then on Sunday she showed one pig for market. All three of their pigs placed in their classes. Ludwig has been going to the State Fair and showing pigs for about five years. She concludes that her favorite part is always showing the pigs and riding the rides and eating the good food at the fair.
Kayley McGuire also attended the state fair for three days. She went to watch and support her friends in the 4-H and FFA pig shows. McGuire has attended the state fair for the last two years. Her favorite part was taking backdrop pictures for her friends’ spot. She also walked around and went shopping and went to the Riley Green concert.
Gracie Hicks and Annestyn Hicks also attended the Riley Green concert. Gracie adds that “The Riley Green concert at the State Fair was fantastic! I definitely recommend going to see him live. He was involved with the crowd and sang covers of the late Toby Keith and the band Alabama, which everyone really enjoyed! Not only that, but he invited Ella Langley back on stage and sang their new songs, “You Look Like You Love Me” and “Don’t Mind If I Do.” Along with that he sang one of my favorite songs of his called, “Worst Way”! I was so excited to see him and I can’t wait to see him again in the future!”
