Jayden Hughes, a four-year member of Jobs for America’s Graduates – Kansas (JAG-K), recently stepped into the role of president, driven by the inspiration he found in his peers.
“Seeing my friends around me becoming officers and presidents and making a change inspired me to be one of the people making a difference in our program,” he shared.
His vision for the year focuses on listening to fellow students and striving to implement their ideas. Hughes is particularly excited about the opportunity to visit the Kansas State Capitol and meet the governor. When it comes to leadership, he believes that it’s not about popularity or image; rather, it’s about stepping up when no one else will.
“A leader should be someone ready to take on whatever it may be,” he stated.
For Hughes, JAG-K is more than just a club; it’s a nationwide program that helps students discover their goals and acquire the skills needed to achieve them. “It gives you all the skills for whatever you may experience in life,” he said.
