On June 10, more than 40 USD 273 prior and current students, teachers, and parents attended an overseas trip to Rome, Italy and Athens, Greece. They kicked off the trip by getting up at 2 am, taking the bus to Wichita and catching a flight to Chicago, where they departed for Rome. Once they landed in Rome, they ventured out into the city, first visiting the Spanish Steps. They visited various other places such as the Colosseum, Vatican City, St. Peter’s Square, Trevi Fountain, The Roman Forum, Pantheon, Pompeii, and the catacombs.
“It was amazing to see the landmarks and the culture, even when the customs of the culture are a little strange,” stated Landry Litton, one of the trip’s participants.
On the evening of the 15th, the group flew to Athens. There they visited the Parthenon, Apollo’s Temple, participated in some Greek dancing, and toured various museums. They went on to conclude their adventure by flying out of Athens at 6 p.m. to catch a flight back to the United States.
