BHS JAG-K is taking part in Socktober, a campaign where students and staff can donate socks in boxes located at the south and west entrances of the school. Kirra Smith, a JAG-K member and sophomore at BJSHS, said, “Socktober is a great way for us to show not only our gratitude, but also our kindness to the community. It’s not about looking good, but about taking care of those in need.”
Socktober runs from Oct. 1-31. After the event, the donated socks will be sent to the United Way to help areas in Kansas that really need them. Cole Sedlacek, another JAG-K member and junior at BJSHS, added, “Socktober is a wonderful and caring donation initiative that encourages people to contribute and make a positive impact in their communities.”
