Chet Kuplin, founder of Sports in Kansas, recently came to BJSHS to speak to students about the power of social media. During the assembly, he had one student stand up and then told everyone who had him on some sort of social platform to also stand up. Then, he told the rest of the people sitting down to stand up if they had any of the people already standing on any social media. The whole room was standing. The purpose of that activity was to show that everyone in this building is connected through technology.
Kuplin’s message is that one post, Snapchat, or text message can change your whole life. This tour is nation-wide and one of the quickest growing school assemblies across the country, and although it has nothing to do with sports, it is very relevant to students and staff members.
