On Tuesday, March 5, BHS Student Council hosted a Red Cross blood drive. In total, there were 14 donations, five of which were first-time donors.
BHS has held 22 blood drives over the last 11 years, with a combined total of 412 units of blood donated from 499 different volunteers (499 includes those turned away before donating for a variety of reasons).
Each unit of blood, on average, helps to save up to three lives, meaning that BHS blood drives have saved up to 1,236 lives.
Student Council organizes two Red Cross blood drives per year, one in both the fall semester and spring semester.
