Students experience Kansas City Renaissance Festival

Students+experience+Kansas+City+Renaissance+Festival

This year, Mr. Ryan Malay took students to the KC Renaissance Festival on Saturday, Sept. 9. This is a yearly trip, and any high school student who would like to join can sign up. It is an all-day event, with the bus leaving the school early in the morning and arriving home later in the evening. You will find dozens of unique vendors at the festival selling jewelry, leather, chainmail, food, clothing and more. Some of the shows you can attend there include jousting and various stage performances.

“There’s something for everyone,” said Ally Otte, sophomore.

Malay is also the sponsor of the American Field Service Club, or AFS. It is a foreign exchange program club, and the club has had a break since 2018, the last year that a foreign exchange student attended Beloit High. The big trip they go on each year is the KC Renaissance Festival, but Malay plans to add a couple new events for the coming year, including a video game tournament and a spring barbeque.
