The Beloit High Student Council held its 14th annual charity event at the Feb. 14 basketball games. Proceeds from the event were given to Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Lincoln, Neb. in honor of Kyler Burks, a BHS junior who received therapy at Madonna for his injuries sustained in a June accident. The “Healing Power of Generosity” was the event’s slogan. Between business sponsorships, t-shirt sales, the partnership with Drew Casper and his Nothing Bundt Cakes sales, and donations from the crowd at the game, a record-shattering $9000 was raised.  The previous charity event record was $5500. Two special videos created by Bryce Beisner were shown at the games.
