BJSHS represented well at the Regional KidWind competition in Manhattan. There were three USD 273 teams that attended. The 7th grade team consisting of Bylee LePon, Rilee Lundine, and  Tripp Stillwell placed 1st. The 8th grade team consisting of Hudson Remus, Henry Tice, Joel Fuller, Evan Giersch, and Kanean Olson placed 2nd. The high school team consisting of Charlie Burke, Jackson Cheney, Luke Cheney, Jayce Offutt, and Jayc Darnall placed 1st as well as got the Judges’ Award.

The students were graded on four different categories: wind tunnel performance measuring joules produced in one minute, the judge’s interview presenting their turbines, a wind knowledge quiz, and an instant challenge.

The teams will make changes to their turbines to make them better and will go on to compete at State KidWind in March.
