January is School Board Recognition Month and the USD 273 Board of Education members were briefly recognized at a recent home basketball game. With the bond, searching for a new superintendent, and regular business that needs taken care of, the board members have been extremely busy. We thought people would enjoy learning more about these board members who volunteer so much of their time to USD 273.
Kelsey Adams has been on the board five years, serving in Position #3. Adams, having enjoyed her service on the Beloit Elementary School Site Council, saw an opening on the school board as a natural next step in contributing to her community. She is committed to continuing and building on the strong success of the USD 273 school district.
Adams graduated from Kansas State University with a bachelor’s degree in microbiology and clinical laboratory science. She also serves on the Mitchell County Historical Society Board and the Zion Lutheran Church Learning Board. Adams is married to Tim Adams and they have 3 children: Kemper, a freshman; Reed, a seventh grader; and Elle, a third grader. Their family farms and she is also an artist.
Adams cares deeply about the future of the children, the well-being of the staff and workers, and the overall vitality of the community.
