Spring sports have officially started and there are 19 players out for the baseball team. Several key starters are returning from last season. Joel Rexroat, Kanean Olson and Paxton Fouts were all-league performers last year. Joel Fuller, Colton Adolph and Brooks Dunstan also played significant roles last season.
The practices have been going well. They had several players missing at the beginning of the season due to basketball commitments, spring break trips and other reasons. However, given the circumstances, everything has been progressing effectively, and the team members are working hard to improve every day.
“It is still early in the season, but I like the feel of this team. They work hard in practice and I can tell they enjoy being around each other and playing baseball. I have high expectations for this team. I would like to see us compete for a league title and potentially win a regional title this season as well,” Brandon Cox, the head baseball coach, stated.
The varsity baseball team is 2-2 after splitting with Sacred Heart and Concordia.
The Trojans host Ellsworth on April 2.
