Recently, students from the fundamentals of drama class (taught by Mrs. Meredith Johnson) and a few other students and staff traveled to the Century II Performing Arts & Convention Center in Wichita to see a live production of Hadestown, a musical retelling of the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, set in the 1920s-30s. The drama class earned money for this trip by working concessions last month.
The musical scored a hit amongst the students, many of whom noted the special effects. “I liked the way [the cast] used the lights, like when they swung the lights down to be part of the set,” said Korbyn Hamel, a drama class student.
