Ted Brown and Casey Seyfert are the final two of four candidates being interviewed for the open superintendent position at USD 273-Beloit.

Brown has experience as an educational leader, currently serving as the superintendent of Ingalls USD 477. His career surrounds classroom instruction, coaching, and both school and district administration. He holds a bachelor’s in secondary education from Kansas State University, a master’s in building leadership from Fort Hays State University, and a district leadership certification from Newman University. Brown began as a social science teacher and head football coach, and was recognized as Southwest Kansas Coach of the Year in 2014. He advanced to building leadership as a junior high/high school principal in 2020 before stepping into the role of superintendent in January of 2025. With a comprehensive understanding of teaching, leadership, and district operations, shaped by experiences across various Kansas school districts, Brown is dedicated to supporting and sustaining the district’s collaborative, family-centered culture.

Seyfert is an experienced educator and school leader with a bachelor’s in history and a master’s in educational administration from Fort Hays State University. He started his career teaching and coaching before advancing to roles as athletic director and assistant principal. He began serving in his current position of principal at Beloit Jr./Sr. High School in 2015, has been active on the Kansas State High School Activities Association Board, including leadership as vice president and president. Recognized as the Region 3 Principal of the Year in 2017, Seyfert is dedicated to the district’s commitment to excellence and community engagement, having served in various roles within USD 273 and working collaboratively with the board of education to advance the district’s goals.
