BHS carpentry tiny house makes its way home

During the 21-22 school year, the BHS carpentry classes built a tiny house for Denise Henson, who resides in Derby, but has land near Asherville. Her idea was to have a tiny house on her land that her family could use for a hunting cabin and weekend getaway. The structure is now complete and sits on a concrete slab on Henson’s land. It features a barn-style roof with a vault ceiling and lofts on both ends. There is a living room, kitchenette, and privacy bathroom.  The walls and ceiling are finished with tongue-and-groove pine car siding and the floors are laminate. The class did all the rough carpentry, finish work, roofing and electrical wiring. Spray foam insulation was installed by Trent Harr Construction.
