Beloit wrestling had an outstanding several days from Jan. 23-26. The boys competed in the Beloit Invitational on Friday, achieving remarkable placements among 16 teams. Participating schools included Abilene, Beloit, Clay Center, Colby, Concordia, Holcomb, Marysville, Minneapolis, Nemaha Central, Plainville, Republic County, Riley County, Salina South, Salina-Central, Silver Lake and Smith Center. The Beloit High placements are as follows: Kasey Green, 6th, at 115-lbs; Tyler Binder, 6th, at 113-lbs; Hunter Koenig, 6th, at 120-lbs; Henry Tice, 5th, at 126-lbs; Kellen Elam, 2nd, at 132-lbs; Brogan Monty, 1st, at 138-lbs; Jesus Cabrera, 8th, at 144-lbs; and Colby Albert, 6th, at 215-lbs. Monty was the “Larry Hewitt Most Outstanding Wrestler” for the second year in a row, as he also captured his 4th Beloit Invitational title.







The girls had a fantastic performance at the Osborne Tournament on Monday, where they won the overall championship. With placements, Estefani Contreras-Muñoz came in 2nd in the 105-lbs division, Daytona McMillian placed 2nd in the 110-lbs division, Zowie Fraser finished 2nd in the 115-lbs division, and Hannah Koenig secured 2nd in the 120-lbs division. Brylee Herrman placed 4th in the 120-lbs division, Taelynn Bockover took 2nd in the 130-lbs division, and Bently Pruitt finished strong with a 1st place in the 145-lbs division.
